The TapHunter smartphone app saves time for bar owners by putting drink lists in one place so customers can follow bars or track their favorite beer, spirit or cocktail to find out the moment it comes to Reno. And just in time to sponsor Reno Craft Beer Week too, a week of tap takeovers and beer events April 18-25. But before all the thirsty Renoites download the app, Reno’s bars need to get on it first.

“TapHunter saves bar owners a ton of time and drives more customers through their door,” said Kara Robinson, marketing manager at TapHunter in San Diego. “It saves (bar owners) hours a week that they would normally spend calling their social media person, updating their beer list on the backend of their website, messing with their print menu in InDesign and Photoshop or reminding servers what’s on the rotating tap list.”

Old Bridge Pub and Sierra Tap House were the first bars to jump on board and take advantage of the lifetime 50%-off deal available to the first five (now three) bars that join TapHunter in Reno. Old Bridge Pub already updated their giant list of 17 taps and 92 bottles so anyone can find it on TapHunter or on their integrated Facebook app.

To get the rest of Reno on TapHunter, bars must sign up for the service to connect their beer, spirits and cocktail lists to the app. When a bar owner updates the lists in one place, their website menu, print menu, social media, digital drink displays and the TapHunter app get updated in real time (or any combination of those depending on the location’s needs). Customers then follow the bar or individual beers on TapHunter to instantly read up-to-date menus so they can make better outing choices. TapHunter offers a team to help with set up or web-savvy bar owners can do it all themselves.

TapHunter also travels well, so anyone visiting Reno will know where to find their favorite tap handles in town. TapHunter marks another step toward for Reno’s craft liquor future, making it easier for locals and visitors to get out and try the constantly growing drink scene at Reno’s bars and breweries.
