CARE Chest’s annual fundraising event puts a creative and tasty twist on helping northern Nevadans in need

Bacon, Bourbon and Brews, CARE Chest of Sierra Nevada’s annual fundraiser, has found a new home this year in the Peppermill Resort’s Tuscany Ballroom, Saturday, June 13 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event features everyone’s favorite ingredient: Bacon.

This year marks the third annual event, which is one of CARE Chest’s main fundraisers. CARE Chest is a non-profit organization that delivers medical resources in the Reno-Tahoe and surrounding communities to people who are under-insured or cannot afford them.

“We’re excited to host an event where we’ll be able to give back to the Reno community while showcasing the area’s local breweries and distilleries,” said Billy Paganetti, general manager at Peppermill Reno.

The event pairs local brews with a delicious bacon-infused menu created by Peppermill’s chefs. Featured brewers pouring include:

• The Brewer’s Cabinet
• The Depot Craft Brewery Distillery
• Under the Rose Brewing Company
• Pigeon Head Brewery
• Great Basin Brewing Co
• Stoneyhead Brewing
• Lake Tahoe Brewing Co.

Guests can also enjoy specialty bourbon cocktails, tastings at the bourbon garden provided by Seven Troughs Distilling Co. and The Depot. The evening is complete with entertainment and a silent auction.
