This is a press release and includes no original reporting.
The Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews and Blues Festival running June 19-20 is equal parts barbecue block party, beer tasting and music festival featuring nonstop rock and blues. Smash Mouth and Toad the Wet Sprocket are set to headline this year’s festival, which runs Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20 in Downtown Reno.
Smash Mouth is an American rock band formed in 1994, and is composed of Steve Harwell, Paul De Lisle, Michael Klooster, Jason Sutter and Sean Hurwitz. The band is known for such songs as “Walkin’ on the Sun,” “All Star” and covers of the Monkees’ hit song “I’m a Believer,” War’s “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” and Question Mark & the Mysterians’ “Can’t Get Enough of You Baby.” Smash Mouth released its sixth studio album, “Magic,” in 2012 and spent the remainder of 2012 touring and promoting its rock and roll cookbook, “Recipes from the Road.”
American alternative rock band Toad the Wet Sprocket formed in 1986 and consists of Glen Phillips, Todd Nichols, Dean Dinning and Randy Guss. They had chart success in the 1990s with singles like “Walk on the Ocean,” “All I Want,” “Something’s Always Wrong” and “Fall Down.” The band broke up in 1998 but began touring the U.S. in 2006 and reunited in 2010 as a full-time working band, writing songs for its first studio album since 1997, “New Constellation,” which was released in 2013. Smash Mouth and Toad the Wet Sprocket bring their exciting shows to fans around the world, including the Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews and Blues Festival’s Fourth Street stage at 6:45 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively, on June 20.
Joining the lineup is American rock band Tonic, who will rock the Fourth Street stage at 3:15 p.m. June 20. Additionally, attendees can catch performances of Lake Tahoe blues band Blues Monsters, local blues band Blu, Whiskey Haulers Blues Band, guitarist Maxx Cabello Jr. and American roots artist Shane Dwight; plus festival favorites the Jason King Band, Rick Hammond Blues Band and Buddy Emmer Blues Band.
